Yes, in order to complete the program and get a certificate and an opportunity of getting a research role at the end of the program, you must attend ALL meetings.

BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Students coming from non-white backgrounds can generally identify as BIPOC.

We recognize that all students applying to Roots in Research will have varying lived experience, and thus students will self-identify their first-generation and low-income status on our application. We define first-generation students as those coming from households where one or more parent does not have a bachelor's degree. We define low- or limited-income students as those who may qualify for free or reduced lunch, AP and SAT fee waivers, or college application fee waivers.
